The Tribe is alive.

The 19th Annual Report of the Bureau of Ethnology, 1897-1898. Pg 233
When it comes to reparations, there are two egregious acts being perpetrated against the Tribe because the Tribal DNA consists of more than one bloodline to which the current occupiers have committed atrocities AND admitted their guilt!!!!!!

The layering of DNA within the Tribe creates a reparations conundrum. When the occupiers got here, the Tribal ancestors came in a variety of flavors. Skin color ranged from dark to light, hair textures strong to straight. And according to the European accounts, they were all “other than white...” to European eyes. This determination of ethnicity based on appearance coupled with ignorance caused most Tribal members to be designated mullatto or "Coloured. This was not an issue at the time since the term “coloured” referred to people who were “other than white or of mixed race”. Any person who did not appear to be white was considered to be colored.

Since all Tribal members were “other than white”they were all categorized as coloured.

The term “Coloured” became an issue when the definition was narrowed from being defined as people who were “other than white or of mixed race” to being defined as people who visibly displayed Negro features. This further complicated things since the Indigenous-African off-spring who had been in bondage and forced to assimilicate over centuries, were seen as Coloured. And the Indigenous-African off-spring who maintained cultural autonomy and had Negro features were seen as Coloured, with no distinction made. No one from either "negro feature" group was provided the support to rebuild* their Nations and no agreements to set aside land was made, as it was for other tribes.

Reparations means to make amends for wrongdoing and the occupiers have partially admitted wrongdoing. However, they are slow to admit to the lasting effects of rape, death, and destruction and how it still benefits the them today while simultaneously keeping the Tribe "in check". Out of the many maniacal acts committed, genocide I believe is the worst.

Genocide means the deliberate killing of a large group of people, especially a particular nation or ethnic group (eod.com). This may be argued this to be incorrect since technically we are still living, it's our culture that is hanging by a thread. But then they admit that we are Indigenous to this land. Thats a win.

So, in a nutshell, Indian-African became Coloured, Coloured became Negro, Negro became Black, Black became Afro/African American. When it came time to show historical lineage, most “Coloured” people were seen and are seen as just black, trying to bypass the "black codes".
