Venimus, Vidimus, Vicimus...get over it!!!

Why do we keep hiding this?  I had nothing to do with it.  I was raised in the exact same system that cultivated my privilege but please forgive me for not realizing it WAS a privilege.  Think about it from my (ad) vantage point.  I’ve been "white" all my life yet I have problems, I have bills, and I have opinions about the unjust system.  No, the color of my skin has never gotten me accosted by the cops, followed in the corner market, or stereotyped before I even open my mouth.  What it HAS gotten me is fed up with having to censor my speech while apologizing for my dedication to further the longevity of my kind.  So, here it goes…

On behalf of all white people I apologize.  I apologize for breaking away from the tribe to cultivate my own branch.  I apologize for invading your lands then enslaving your people.  I apologize for each instance where you FAILED to protect your women.  I apologize for capitalizing on and exploiting your weaknesses which allowed me to colonize then #assimilicate much of your population, therefore erradicating your culture.  I apologize for keeping you disconnected from the ever-increasing global trade.  I apologize for whatever the hell else we’ve been blamed for.  But think about it.  Why is it "white" people have been able to conquer coloured people over and over and over again?  Really…what does that say about YOU? #getoverit
